Family law is
our only focus.

When you find yourself face to face with a family law issue there will initially be many unknowns. My goal is to minimize the fear and anxiety that comes with those unknowns, and to be your guide through a process that is sometimes intimidating but always manageable.

Getting started

Three steps, no guesswork. You will know what a consultation costs, what to bring, and what happens next before you pick up the phone.

  1. Step one

    Schedule a consultation

Book over the phone or in the office. Appointments are usually available within two weeks, and sooner when the schedule opens or a situation is urgent. Because Sarah is a sole practitioner she is not always able to take on new matters, so call early.

  2. Step two

    Meet with Sarah

Consultations run about an hour, longer if your case needs it. This is far more than meeting an attorney. Even if you never retain the firm you leave with advice specific to your case: your rights, your obligations, what to expect, and a plan for how to proceed. Bring your top five questions and copies of your most important documents. The consultation is billed at the current hourly rate, due when it ends.

  3. Step three

Choose the right level of help

If you retain the firm, the retainer is set by the complexity of your matter and the services you actually need. In some cases Sarah can advise on an ongoing basis while you represent yourself, which often costs less. Every matter runs on a written contract and a retainer, at hourly rates unless a flat fee is the better fit.

Two people. Your whole case.

Sarah Weddle

Attorney

I started my practice to help families through a process that is often emotionally draining and legally complex at the same time. Not knowing what to do or what to expect is daunting. My goal is to give you guidance so you know your rights, understand your options, and can move on with your life.

Legal issues overlap with emotional ones. Often there are children at the center of a case who must be shielded from it. Finances take a hit. Even a simple matter can be overwhelming. I am not a therapist, and I will tell you when that help is worth seeking, but I am sensitive to what is actually going on in each case.
